Soldering is required, and if unsure, seek professional help. One piece of hookup wire must be soldered from a pin on the console's power switch to the power pad on the ribbon for power. Soldering the touch pad sensor to the touch sensor pad on the ribbon is optional but needed for brightness adjustment. When the grid line mode is on, some game scenes may flash when switching, which is a motherboard refresh issue of the game machine itself, but it doesn't affect the IPS LCD's perfect display.
